Mental Models

Aligning design strategy with human behavior

Mental Models

Do Cats Share a Mental Model?

For amusement, I talked to a number of cat owners, asking them to interpret the underlying motivations of their cats' behaviors. Here is the cat mental model that resulted, sketching out some of the feline philosophies and feelings that facilitate some of our favorite friends.

Comments

For the "eat something that falls on the floor" part of the mental model, you can add "employ a two year old to drop things on the floor".

You'll also want somewhere to hide the "make sure the dog is locked away so the dog doesn't eat things off the floor".

What's the best way to print this? it's really wide...

Heh, good additions to the cat mental model. There is more about printing here.
